I'm Back

Image
I'm sorry that I have missed a few days.  I am not going to let that stop me from continuing to write each day.  I will continue to try to write each day without getting discouraged when I miss a few days. I wasn't in a good place for a few days.  I just could not make myself write.  Sometimes I just feel really badly about myself and it takes all of my energy to just make it through the day.  The negative thoughts consume my mind...I didn't feel like making a record of those days, ha ha. On Friday, Jon and I were able to go out together for the first time in a long time.  We got our Temple Recommends renewed, we went out to eat at a Mexican Restaurant, and we went shopping.  We didn't do much, but it took us nearly 6 hours.  It was really nice to get away together.  We don't do it enough. My self-esteem is really bad at times.  I wonder if I'd feel better about myself if Jon and I would go out together more often.  I don't kn...

Frankenplant!

Image
I only took two pictures today. We went to Apollo Park in the morning!  I didn't take any pictures.  But it was wonderful!  The playgrounds were open and the kids played on the playground...the first playground that they have played on since March!  They had so much fun.  I saw Rachel Phelan there and it was nice to talk to her for a little bit. After the park we got back to the grind and did school. Caitlyn did a great job on her "Frankenplant"! Mason has been struggling with school.  He whines and complains about it every day.  He refuses to write anything down.  When he does math he just wants to do it all in his head and he absolutely refuses to write the problem down and work through it.  It has been so frustrating.  Homeschooling has a lot of benefits...but I'm feeling like it isn't working for the kids this year, aside from Lizzie.  They all complain and don't want to listen to me.  Sometimes it's really hard.  But ...

I'm Just Tired

Image
I didn't take any pictures today! I don't feel like taking any now just for the purpose of this post, ha ha. I stayed up late last night working on my Nutrition class.  Then William spent a good portion of the night in my bed.  He wasn't feeling well as a result of his booster shots.  He ended up having a fever this morning and was pretty lethargic.  Maybe William's lethargy rubbed off on me.  I could't seem to wake up all day.  I just wanted to lie down and do nothing. I somehow made myself get up and out of bed at 5:00 in the morning so that I could exercise.  It took a lot of inner hoaxing to make myself get up.  But I did it.  I just need to exercise every morning.  I need to get my body moving and I need to listen to something inspirational before my day begins. Other than feeling tired, it was a typical day.  Breakfast, Outside Time, School Work, Breaks, Snacks, Lunch, Whining, Trying to Limit Technology, William took a ...

William got his Booster Shots

These first two pictures were from yesterday. Lizzie made this awesome Harry Potter scarf!  She's going to be Hermione Granger for Halloween.  She'll wear this outfit and bring her Hermioni wand as well.  Lizzie is so talented!  And, most importantly, she works hard.  She is talented at many things because she has a growth mindset.  She doesn't give up.  She keeps trying to learn something until she figures it out.  Then she ends up becoming very proficient at it.  She's amazing! I made Dinner in a Pumpkin last night for dinner!  It was a hit.  It had rice, broccoli, carrots, corn, chicken, and a yummy sauce.  I really loved it!  And the cooked pumpkin was amazing as well.  I also made pumpkin chocolate chip cookies yesterday.  I made them for us and for the sisters that I minister to.  I made a visit yesterday and two today. William had a check-up today at Kaiser.  Just his regular yearly check-u...

Lazy Saturday

Image
William came into our room last night...again.  I tried to put him back in his bed but it just wasn't happening.  So I let him come in bed with us.  And he wet the bed, ha ha.  Pee all over the place.  It happened early in the morning so he had a very early morning bath.  Then he was tired the rest of the day.  I'm crossing my fingers that he stays in his bed tonight. We had a lazy day today. I ran 5 miles in the morning.  I made my traditional waffles with strawberries and whipping cream for breakfast.  Sandy and the kids and I went for a walk outside.  The kids ate popsicles.  We played games, read books, ate lunch, and just relaxed.  Oh yes, the kids watched "The Halloween Tree" during breakfast.  I love that movie.  Growing up, I watched it over and over again with my siblings.  Such good memories.  Today I also spent a lot of time working on my Nutrition assignment, which I turned in.  I also...

Hidden Side

Image
Mason has been OBSESSED with Hidden Side lately.  OBSESSED.  Sometimes I think it's the only thing he thinks about. It has nearly been the only thing he talks about.  They have stopped making the lego sets, so Jon and I bought some on Amazon.  One for his Christmas present and one for his birthday present.  Well, Mason had some money saved up and so he has been begging and begging to go to Target to buy his first Hidden Side Lego Set.  So, before we went food shopping at Sam's Club and Walmart, we went to Target.  Mason was beyond excited!  He built it faster than I thought possible and has been playing with it nonstop since. He is such a great kid! Jon's parents moved in today!  It will be good to have them here.
