Camping in Malibu
On Monday we took our trailer out for a one night camping trip. Tara's family is in CA for the week (she'll be visiting us Friday and Saturday). She was at Zuma Beach with some friends and we decided to meet them and tag along. We ended up only being with them for an hour, but it was fun! We haven't been to Zuma Beach before and I'm pretty sure we will be going again.
There was a camping spot a few miles away from Zuma, so we decided to try it out. It was nice! Not my favorite, but it was close to a tide pool. The kids spent a good hour looking in the tide pool and discovering lots of new creatures (mostly crabs). At the campsite, the kids rode their scooters (Mason, his unicycle). We ate hamburgers, chips, and cherries. When it got dark, we enjoyed sitting by the fire and eating smores. Caitly "cast hers into the fire", ha ha. It was a lovely and very memorable evening spending time together. I slept next to William, Jon slept next to Caitlyn, Lizzie by herself, and Bryce and Mason slept in the tent outside by themselves. It was nice having them sleep outside in the tent.
In the morning, I was about to watch the kids ride their scooters when it suddenly started to pour! It rained for a good hour or two. We put on rain coats and I took Mason, Caitlyn, and William on a nice walk in the rain. It was beautiful. I love the smell of rain.
Here are a few pictures from our adventure!
