Another Week Gone

Another week gone!  It's been a long week, to be honest.  Jon can not put any pressure on his foot, therefore, he is trapped in bed or on a chair.  I'm not sure if it's because Jon is not able to help, or what, but it seems as if the kids have been extra whiny.  Perhaps it's been a year of quarantine and they are done with each other, ha ha.  They are looking forward to going back to school next year.  It's been a wonderful year and we have been extremely blessed, but I think the kids need space from one another.  I will always look back on 2020 with great fondness.  It was a wonderful year where I felt that I, personally, increased my spirituality and have come closer to the Savior.

My heart is so sad for my friend, Bobbi.  Her husband, Aaron, was diagnosed with Colon Cancer and it seems pretty dire.  He will not be able to work for at least a year and will have to experience at least 6 months of chemotherapy.  I hope and pray that he will make it through.  They are having an auction where they are asking people to sell things...all proceeds go to Aaron and his family.  I couldn't sleep on Friday night thinking about what I could offer to this auction.  The thought came to me that I could sell some sort of baked goods.  So I entered the auction differently, as a bake sale participant.  I offered to make giant cookies, cupcakes, cinnamon rolls, white bread, cinnamon swirl bread, and brownies.  I was not prepared for the amount of people that wanted to purchase these items!  This week alone I am making 7 dozen cinnamon rolls, 4 loaves of bread, and 1 pan of brownies.  Next week I'm making 9 loaves of bread, 1 giant cookie, and 6 dozen cinnamon rolls.  Whew!  I hope and pray that Heavenly Father will give me the strength that I need to accomplish all of this baking.  I'm so happy that I will be able to contribute, in my own small way, towards the auction.

Yesterday (Saturday), We had a lot of family over.  Jon's parents, Bita, Grandma Norma, Darlene, Justin, James, Lydia, and Jon's cousin, Helaman and his wife, Erica, and their 4 daughters.  Whew!  We had sandwiches, chips, homemade cookies, and fruit for lunch.  For dinner we ate spaghetti, homemade bread sticks, and a yummy strawberry vanilla sheet cake for dessert.  We celebrated Grandma Norma's 91st Birthday.  It was nice to have them over.  I loved seeing the kids play with all of their cousins.  They enjoy being together.

Jon went to the doctor on Friday to get his bandages changed.  I was pretty impressed with the extent of his injury!  Ouch!  He will get the pins out in 5 weeks.

I bought a little cardboard puppet theater for the kids on Thursday.  They enjoy it!

I made a few loaves of bread this week...this is the picture that I posted that everyone ordered.  I am so worried that I won't be able to make good bread for other people...I pray that Heavenly Father will help me.

Caitlyn made this cute little St. Patrick's day picture.  For St. Patrick's Day, the kids that their usual Lucky Charms for breakfast (they get it once a year, ha ha).  We had a green dinner (Broccoli, Asparagus, and ravioli with basil pesto sauce).  We had green chocolate chip mint ice cream.

We learned about the putting on Christ, or, the Armor of God one evening for our Come Follow Me study.  Bryce gave the lesson.  I am so proud of Bryce.  I often ask him to give the Come Follow Me Lesson at the last minute and he follows through.  I am very proud of him.

It snowed on Tuesday for about 15 minutes.  It was freezing.  Then, the very next day, it was so warm that Caitlyn and William were playing in the backyard with the sand toys, ha ha.

Caitlyn and William have been best friends lately.  They made a little play together last week.  I love how they love each other!

I made Chicken Pot Pie and a Pecan Pie for March 14th (Pi Day).  It's tradition, ha ha.  The pecan pie was a first for me and it was pretty tasty!

We had Stake Conference today.  My takeaway was...for any problem that you are experiencing, Jesus Christ is the answer.
