Caitlyn Tells the Truth
I forgot to record an experience that we had the day before Mason's birthday.
I had baked Mason's cake and it turned out perfectly round, perfect for the pokeball that I was going to decorate it as. Anyway, I left the cake on the stove top to cool while I did some other things around the house. When I returned to the kitchen I noticed that part of the cake was missing, ruining my perfect circle, ha ha. I asked all of the kids if they ate the cake and the all denied it. It was bothering me that someone was obviously lying, but I didn't know how to address the situation.
About a half hour later I was filling up the goodie bags with Caitlyn when she told me that she wanted to tell me something. The thought that she had eaten the cake didn't even cross my mind. She took me into the bathroom, shut the door, then quietly told me that she had been the one to eat the cake. I was so happy that I nearly started to cry. She has such a tender spirit. I gave her a big hug again and again and told her how proud I am of her. It's hard to tell the truth sometimes but she didn't even hesitate. She told me that Jesus told her to tell the truth. It was such a blessed experience.
Today at dinner the kids and I created alliterations with the kids' names.
Lizzie Lizard Lovingly Licks Lemon Lime Lollipops
Brilliant Bryce Brightly Blows Big Blue Balloons
Mighty Marvelous Mason Munches Mangoes Most Monday's
Caitlyn Cat Carelessly Cuddles Cows Containing Covid
Creative Caity Cat Calmly Cooks Chocolate Cake
Wondrous William Wiggles Wildly While Wrangling Walruses
What a fun little experience with the kids, one to be remembered!
The kids have been doing well with distance learning and we are counting our blessings that we have been able to stay healthy.
I've been busy with my church calling. I have been praying very hard about how we can reach out to the girls on our list whom we don't know about. I have been praying that we won't lose the active girls. It's been hard with the Covid restrictions. I'm hoping that things will be back to normal soon. I can hardly wait to see people regularly again. I will take advantage of it and never take in-person meetings for granted again.
Jon has been getting random fat lips for the past few months. We haven't been able to figure out why. He finally went into Kaiser today. Soon he will be getting an allergy test to get to the bottom of it all.
