The End of 2020
It's December 31st! The last day of 2020!
What a year this has been. For us, fortunately, it has been an unforgettable year for how much we have been blessed. So many others in this world have not had such a blessed 2020. I will always remember 2020 as the year when the unnecessary things were cancelled and only the essential things remained. Our family and our faith. Our family was able to be home together every single day. This year we were able to study and dig deep into The Book of Mormon. The book is true! I feel like we have all been able to come closer to Christ this year. We have been spiritually fed as we watched 2 amazing General Conferences. Jon's parents lived with us for 2 months and what an experience that was, ha ha.
In 2021, I just want to continue trying to improve each day. Every day is another opportunity to do be a little bit better. That's how I will try to look at it. My main goal is to maintain my spirituality. If I do that, then the spirit will be able to tell me the exact things that I need to do to improve myself. I want to be better at communicating with God and allowing him to prevail in my life.
I haven't mentioned yet that last Sunday Jon and I met with the Bishop and I was called as the new Young Women President. I don't feel competent (I quite like being a councilor), but I love the girls and I will do the best that I can. I don't know when I will officially be set apart. Maybe this Sunday? I fasted and prayed about my councilors but am waiting for approval from the Bishop. I am so very grateful that I still get to be in Young Women with Lizzie. I hope that I will be able to be in there with Caitlyn as well, but I doubt they will keep me there for that long. I am looking forward to starting 2021 out with a bang (with a new church calling) and praying that Heavenly Father will be there to help me perform my calling to the best of my ability.
The last few days we spent in Las Vegas (we stayed at a hotel in Henderson). We left on Monday. When we got there, we ate dinner at Whole Foods and then walked around the mall outlet. Then we went to our hotel and we watched "The Wizard of Oz". On Tuesday, we went to the Bilagio hotel, followed by the Venetian. Then we ate lunch at Del Taco. Then we went shopping at a goodwill and the Deseret Industries. Then we went to Deseret Book and bought a few things. I felt like we were in Utah, ha ha. We grabbed something to eat for dinner at Trader Joe's. Back at the hotel, the older kids played "Catan" with Jon in the hotel lobby. I played a few games with the younger two kids. Then we all watched "Shrek" before bed. On Wednesday, we went to another goodwill, and then we went to the Circus Circus theme park. The kids spent a good 4 hours going on rides. They loved it so much. I am so incredibly grateful that Jon works so hard and that he is able to provide our children with such fun experiences. After the amusement park, we ate dinner at Golden Corral. Then we played games in the hotel and watch a cooking show before bed. On Thursday, we ate breakfast and then left to go back home. It was a perfect little vacation. It truly was. We are so incredibly blessed.
Here are a few pictures of the last few days:
New Years Eve feast!
I should try to get a few more pictures of myself on this blog. I'm just not that good at taking selfies.
Anyway, we had a great time and are grateful for the chance we had to get away.
Heavenly Father has truly blessed us this year.
