Busy, Busy
I feel like I have failed this blog over the past few weeks. I have missed so many days. Life has just been so overwhelmingly insanely busy that not only have I not had time to blog, but I have barely taken any photos at all.
Friday was a long day. Bryce stayed home from school because he puked on Thursday at school and the school nurse told me to keep him home another day. I really needed to go shopping and run some errands but I was trapped at home. I had volunteered to bake some potatoes for a wedding reception that evening. I also volunteered to help out in the kitchen for that reception. A couple in our ward were sealed in the temple and were in charge of their own reception (they had no family who were able to help). It was a very chaotic evening, but it was somehow pulled together.
There was a mishap with the chicken, however, and there ended up being pounds of raw chicken thawing out in the church kitchen sink all day. By the time we arrived at 5:00 the chicken smelled so badly that we were all gagging. The chicken was still very cold, however, so we decided that it was safe to cook. We put some in an instapot and some in a crockpot and hoped that it would be finished by starting time...and it was! But I gagged every time I walked by the chicken. It ruined my appetite and I couldn't eat anything all night. Sarah Nelson was also there helping and she was also gagging away all night...so awful! It was fun working in the kitchen with my friends though, despite the yucky chicken smell!
I made myself gag down a peanut butter sandwich when I got home at 10:00 because I knew that I needed some energy for my 15 mile run in the morning with Angie...which ended up being a disaster. I hit a wall around mile 9 and could barely finish 13 miles. Angie went ahead without me for a few more miles while I just had to stop. It was so embarrassing and I don't think that I can run with Angie anymore. Not when I continuously have issues like this. Jon wants me to quit and to not run the half marathon in 5 weeks. I just have to keep at it though...I'll run until I just can't anymore and then as soon as this race is done I'll take a break and allow my body to heal. I think I'll be done with racing after this. I don't think it's worth it. I am so miserable after every long run on Saturday. I am having a hard time feeling the joy in it any longer.
Here is a picture of the reception:
Mason had a basketball game on Saturday. He had fun but I don't think basketball is for him. He hasn't an ounce of competitiveness or urgency in him when he is around the ball.
I went to a baptism that afternoon as well. I love going to baptisms and always feel the spirit so strongly.
Caitlyn is a little piano lover! I told her that she can start taking lessons once she is in kindergarten. For now, she just plays the same old songs over and over and over and over again. She likes "Mary had a little lamb", "Twinkle, twinkle little star", and "Old MacDonald had a farm". She is a sweetheart.
Our house is officially on the market. And we put an offer on our dream home. All we can do is wait and see what happens. We mostly need to have an inspection on our dream house to see what we are actually dealing with as far as repairs are concerned. If it'll be too much for us to deal with, than we will stay in our current home. We are doing all that we can though, so the rest is in the Lord's hands.
Here's to another week of Come, Follow Me!
I'll see if I can be a better Mom this week. I have been so stressed lately that my temper has been short and I have not been proud of myself.
