An Unexpected Surprise

Image
Today was Martin Luther King Day so there was no work or school.  Hooray! I woke up early and read scriptures and prayed before going on a 5-mile run.  It was a beautiful morning and I felt great.  I think my daily stretching habit has really been a good thing. I spent the morning writing cards and postcards to the young women and the YCL's whom I'm in charge of for YW camp this year.  I also organized some paperwork, etc. Jon brought hamburgers home for the kids for lunch, they were super excited. I took Lizzie and Caitlyn with me on my errands. My first errand was to stop by one of the young women's homes and wish her a happy birthday.  No one knew anything about her.  Before leaving (and throughout the morning) I prayed that someone would answer the door and I wouldn't have to leave the gift on the doorstep.  Heavenly Father answered my prayer...big time!  I was able to meet Adira's Mom and found out that she is the sister of one of my fr...

Mason Turns 9!

Mason's 9th Birthday was yesterday! I think that I had a great day. We gave him the last two Hidden Side Lego sets that we had stashed in our closet, a watch (that Jon bought on clearance), and a unicycle!  He was a very happy boy.  When I woke up early to exercise, he was already wandering around the house in a pikachu hat, ha ha.  I told him that he had to at least wait until 6:30 to open up his gifts. Grandma gave him another Hidden Side lego set and Darlene gave him a pokemon lego set.  I think that he is set for years with the amount of lego sets that he has received recently. Pictures of Mason's ...

Family History Night

I didn't take many pictures today.  I only snapped these pictures of Lizzie and William while on a run/walk on our dirt road. I love the fact that we live on a dirt road.  I couldn't be happier!  I have convinced myself that we live in the best house on the best corner in all of Antelope Valley.  I couldn't have imagined 15.5 years ago that I would have the life that I am currently living.  That I would be living in this house with such a wonderful husband who loves me (I'm not sure why, ha ha) with 5 beautiful children.  That we would be so financially blessed.  That we would be living through a pandemic in which we would be required to work from home, home school, and have church from home.  That we would have something called "Come Follow Me" which has blessed my life in more ways than I can count.  At this point in time, my Mom has already been gone for nearly 8 years.  She never even got to meet Caitlyn or William.  She w...
