Daily Reflections

 We went to Apollo Park again today! We had a chimney sweep come over this morning to talk to us about the details of putting in our pellet stove in a few months.  Jon was wearing his Dino Onesie pajamas.  I was embarrassed. I don't know how anyone could have taken him seriously in those pajamas, ha ha. Since it's November, I'm going to try and focus on Gratitude.  I found a 30 Day Gratitude Journal Countdown and I'm going to try to stick to it. Day 1 (Yesterday): How has an "attitude of gratitude" blessed you in the past? Well, with Covid-19 things have been pretty crazy.  But I am so incredibly grateful that our lives have not changed (aside from everyone staying home all of the time).  The fact that everyone is always home is actually a good thing.  I have especially really appreciated the Come Follow Me Program and having church at home. Elizabeth Over, Age 13 " Bryce Over, Age 11 "This week we had a trunk or treat and Lydia's party.  I was a Whoopie Cushion for Halloween.  I got a bunch of candy.  4 Almond joys, whoppers, hersheys, licorice.  Licorice is the grossest thing on Earth.  I only like Red Vines.  I got twix bars, milky way bars, kit kats.  Kit kats are yummy because I like wafers.  i ate candy.  My favorite candy are almond joys, milky ways, twix bars.  Baby ruth's are gross.  We had a family Halloween party.  Here are my holiday favorite lists:  Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving, Labor Day, Flag Day, Pi Day, and a bunch of more days....last is Halloween because it's kind of fun, but boring-ish.  I like the candy though.  I like Christmas because you get 3 weeks off.  On Halloween you still have to do homework.  Valentines day you get chocolate."  Since we celebrated Halloween on Friday the 30th, the 31st was pretty low key. I went running in the morning, Jon's parents left to run errands, Jon went shopping (for hours, ha ha), the kids and I cleaned the house, we took the Halloween decorations down, we put up the Thanksgiving decorations, I worked on and finished my 100 point nutrition assignment, and we went to Lydia's birthday party in the evening. A great day! William dressed up as Charmander for the party.  Mason was a pokeball but I wasn't able to get a picture of him. Bryce was a whoopie cushion, of course. The girls dressed up as Snow White.  Jon's Mom made Lizzie's Snow White costume for Darlene when she was younger.  These girls are adorable!

Today was a fun day! The kids took it easy for school today...which means they barely did anything.  The ward trunk or treat was tonight and that was the only thing that they could think of all day.  We also had our family Halloween celebration today.  The kids picked the menu. Caitlyn also had a little trunk or treat at school with the 1st Grade teachers.  She also found out that she won 2nd place in the 1st grade pumpkin decorating contest (with her unicorn pumpkin).  She was so excited!  All of the girls must have voted for her pumpkin, ha ha.  Caitlyn and Mason both miss school.  I hope that they will be able to go back next year.  And William will be in kindergarten!  And it looks like I'll be homeschooling Bryce and Lizzie.  Who would have thought that I would be homeschooling when all of my kids were finally old enough to be in school?  I have made a commitment to my kids though, and I will do whatever I need to for them...
