Halloween Celebration and Ward Trunk or Treat

Today was a fun day!

The kids took it easy for school today...which means they barely did anything.  The ward trunk or treat was tonight and that was the only thing that they could think of all day.  We also had our family Halloween celebration today.  The kids picked the menu.

Caitlyn also had a little trunk or treat at school with the 1st Grade teachers.  She also found out that she won 2nd place in the 1st grade pumpkin decorating contest (with her unicorn pumpkin).  She was so excited!  All of the girls must have voted for her pumpkin, ha ha.  Caitlyn and Mason both miss school.  I hope that they will be able to go back next year.  And William will be in kindergarten!  And it looks like I'll be homeschooling Bryce and Lizzie.  Who would have thought that I would be homeschooling when all of my kids were finally old enough to be in school?  I have made a commitment to my kids though, and I will do whatever I need to for them.  Even if it means that I need to put my career plans on the back burner for a little while.  For everything there is a time and a season for every purpose under heaven.  Let God Prevail.

In the morning, the girls were playing "house" with their little animals, babies, and furniture.  I love the way that they are so good at playing with one another.  I am so happy that my two daughters love each other so much.

William was having fun playing with our Little People Farm and animals.  We bought that farm when Lizzie was a baby.  It's lasted through all of the kids.  It's a classic toy.  One that I will keep for the grand kids to play with.

The kids wanted to make "worms in dirt" for our Halloween Treat tonight.

They also wanted Halloween Punch with a frozen ice hand.  The hand melted so fast...it looked much better when the fingers were larger.

The kids decorated the table for Halloween.  I bought this table runner from the Dollar Store.  Lizzie and Catilyn made the cutest place mats!

I took pictures of every place mat.  They have jokes on them.  I'm hoping that they will stay clean and that we will be able to use them next yer as well.

The Halloween dinner that the kids chose was Ghost Mashed Potatoes, Meatloaf with an eyeball in the middle, and ghost punch.  As well as the worms in dirt dessert.

Here is a picture of the kids all dressed up before the ward trunk or treat.  I love this picture.  My kids are growing up!

Bryce, the Whoopie Cushion.

Caitlyn as Batgirl!

William the stud...Batman!

Lizzie is Hermione Granger from Harry Potter.

Mason was a Ninjago tonight.  Tomorrow he will be a Pokeball.

The ward trunk or treat was awesome.  Lots of people came and it was so good to see the ward members again.  I'm looking forward to the day when I can go back to church and meet with people again.  I miss them.  I will not take going to church for granted again.  I will not take people and relationships for granted again.  There is nothing better than talking to people, face to face.  I can't wait until that is the norm again.
