2021 Summary

 2021...What a year!

Some Highlights:

I read the Book of Mormon 4 times this year (one time I finished in 29 days!)

We studied the Doctrine and Covenants for Come follow Me!

Lizzie Started Highschool (and seminary)!

William started Kindergarten!

I got depressed being home without the kids...so I got my first job in 14 years!

I was called to be the ward Young Women President in January.

Jon is still serving in the Bishopric, this year as the 2nd Counselor.

Bryce was ordained to the office of a Deacon and serves as the Deacon Quorum President.

Jon broke his foot in March and had to have surgery.

Our fruit trees produced no fruit this year, which was sad.

Lizzie was extremely sick for about 2 months.  She had ovarian cysts, major constipation, and valley fever!

We had the opportunity to listen to two General Conferences, which are my favorite holiday's.

We went to Last Vegas after Christmas 2020, we went to Utah for Kynzlee's baptism, we went to Utah for the 4th of July holiday, we went to Las Vegas for Thanksgiving, and we went to Utah (again!) for Christmas.

We took our trailer on a few camping trips.  A few of the most memorable trips were Malibu Bach and "Camp FeeFee" in Tehachappi.

I participated in a fundraiser and earned over $800 selling cinnamon rolls, homemade bread, and other baked goods.  I call this experience "The Miracle of the Bread"...because I prayed over every single loaf that I baked and begged Heavenly Father with all of the energy of my soul to help the bread turn out!  It sure took a miracle, because I'm really not that great at baking bread!

We got a few flat tires.

The kids started the year with virtual school and finished with in-class learning!  It's the best!

We continued to have church at home until May-ish when we were all allowed to return to in-person worship (with masks and social distancing, of course).  What a blessing worshiping together is.  I will never take it for granted again.  However, I will always treasure the time that our family had the opportunity to worship at home.  Precious memories!

Lizzie and I were able to go to Young Women Camp together!  It was such a wonderful experience and one that I will treasure forever!

Jon and Bryce were able to go to Young Men's camp!

I took a Human Anatomy/Physiology summer class at AVC and really enjoyed it.

And...lots more that I'm forgetting!  I can always add more later, ha ha.

This year was full of new experiences and changes.  The thing that I am most proud of, however, was the fact that we finished this year strong...spiritually.  Jon and I are doing our best to teach our children the gospel and participate the best way that we know how in the inspired Come Follow Me program.  With me working now, I pray that Heavenly Father is pleased with this choice of mine.  I hope and pray that I can feel His approval and His guidance in my life.  I hope and pray that I will be able to put first things first and never lose sight of our main objective.  I hope and pray that we will still continue to be able to study the gospel together, as a family, and that Jon and I can do all that we can to help nurture our children's testimonies.  As parents, that's the most important thing that we can do.  I will do all that I can to continue to achieve daily restoration.  Daily prayer, scripture study, and gospel study.  I hope to continue to do all that I can to strengthen my testimony so that I will better be able to teach our children the truths of eternity..."the reality of a pre-mortal existence, the purpose of our lives here on Earth, and the potential for the sons and daughters of men in the world to come."

This is my hope and prayer for 2022...bring it on!
