Best Saturday Ever!

Today was a great day!

I got to go running in the morning!  I ran 5 miles, the usual run to Avenue A and back.  It felt amazing.

Jon and I went on a date! We went out to eat at Azteca restaurant, the only restaurant in Antelope Acres.  Jon ordered a fajita burrito and I ordered the huevos rancheros.  I love heuvos rancheros...but I wasn't too fond of these ones.  But the chips and salsa made up for it!  So delicious!

After our date we took the kids into town.  We promised the kids that they could choose their own TV dinners for dinner tonight.  It was nice to get out!

I read the Book of Mormon with Morgana at 8:30 and the rest of my spare time was spent working on the Young Women Newsletter.  I just finished it at 8:00...it seemed to take forever today.

We are now watching "To Kill A Mockingbird".  I love this book/movie.  So good!

At Azteca!

These pictures of Nana and Grandpa Duncan popped up on our digital picture frame today.  I love and miss them so much.  They are the absolute best grandparents I could have ever asked for.

I was thinking of my Mom today.  Every time I put up Fall Decorations I think of Mom.  This was her favorite part of the year.  It's mine too.  Mom would have glass dishes full of M&M's throughout the house during each season.  Fall colored ones during the fall.  Halloween ones for Halloween.  Christmas ones for Christmas.  Valentines Day ones for Valentines Day.  She was the best at making each and every holiday exciting.

I filled up a ceramic pumpkin with M&M's today in remembrance of Mom.

As I was sitting here, thinking of Mom, I saw a post on Facebook that caught my eye.  I saw this picture:

Right when I saw those blocks I knew that my Mom had made them.  It just looked like something that she would have made.  I read the post and discovered that she had, in fact, made those blocks!  She had given them to a friend after her husband had passed away.  My Mom was just like that...she was talented, artistically, and she was constantly thinking of others and how she could share her artistic talent with others in an effort to bless their lives.  I love and miss her dearly.

This is my favorite Fall Decoration.  A Fall tree with the hand prints of all of the kids in 2017.  It's a keepsake...I'll put it up every year.  Soon they will all grow up but this will be a decoration that will remind me of how small they used to be.

This is one of my favorite parts of our house.  Jon built the shelves above the counter.  It's our "family history" area.  We mostly have pictures or our own family on these shelves, but we plan to include pictures of family members past and across the generations.

Pictures of a lazy Saturday morning...

Oh what a wonderful life we have!
