One of Those Days
I don't know what my problem was today...but I just had a hard time dealing with life. Everything was annoying me. I just wanted to go to bed and be by myself all day. I just wanted to read all day. I couldn't do that. Jon was working in our bedroom all day. I don't have an escape. I was just overwhelmed with it all today. For no reason in particular. I just didn't want to deal with anything today. If I could have run away, I would have. Some days are just like that. I hope and pray that I feel better tomorrow. Sometimes I'm just overwhelmed with feelings of inadequacy. Feelings that what I spend my time doing isn't really important at all. I know the source of these thoughts (Satan), yet sometimes I'm not strong enough to fight them off. So they sit thee and fester in my mind until something snaps me back to reality. I'll likely feel better tomorrow.
For our youth activity tonight, we were supposed to make something out of lemons and share it with the group. I made lemon/onion/dill weed tilapia. It tasted okay. I learned the recipe at Jacob Lake when I worked there for a summer in 2001.
Lizzie made these delicious lemon swig sugar cookies. They were delicious! Very sweet though.
I sat down with the boys today and we ordered 27 books from the library, ha ha. Mostly Goosebumps books, Stick Dog, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, and then Lizzie ordered the next 2 books in a trilogy she's reading.
Well, since school starts on Monday, I thought I would get serious about the kids' prize box. They decorated the box and I made little tickets that I will be distributing to them based on their good behavior. They will have a chance to purchase something in the prize box every Friday. I hope it helps them behave better...only time can tell. They kept busy decorating the box, at least.
I had to include this picture. It's taken from a book that the kids are obsessed with (especially Mason). The book is called, "Bone Soup". It's a Halloween book but it's read often throughout the year. And this zombie family is "our family", ha ha. 7 Zombies...7 members in our family as well. Whenever I read this book, the kids are always quick to point out what Zombie character matches one of our family members.
Just another sunrise this morning. I'm really going to miss these...maybe I'll have to still sneak them in somehow.
