Friday Night Bikes

It's Friday!  We made it through another week of our never-ending Saturday's.  Since March 14th when everything got cancelled (school, church, meetings, etc.) every day but Sunday seems like a Saturday.  We have been very blessed that Jon has been able to work and continue to earn money through it all.  We have also been blessed to be able to have our Sunday's feel different than any other day.  Because we have the priesthood in our home, we are able to partake of the Sacrament on Sunday's.  We also don't do typical outside activities on Sunday's.  In addition, we only watch church movies.  This Sunday I would like to start implementing additional traditions.  I'd like to start making it a tradition to write cards to family members and other elderly people in our ward.  I would also like to have the kids start recording things on this blog each Sunday.  Even if it's merely them telling me about their week and I type it out for them.  It is better than what I have been doing in the past.  It's never too late to change!

I made homemade pizza for dinner today.  I must admit that I have gotten pretty good at it over the years.  A few years ago I found a perfect pizza crust recipe and I haven't tried anything else since.  The pizza comes out nearly perfect every single time.

After dinner we went outside and played.  We played for a good 2 hours, which was nice because tomorrow will be 106 degrees and we won't be getting much outdoor time tomorrow.

William kept pretending to fall off of his bike.  Silly Will.

The boys and I have this bike ride that we like to go on that's about 3 miles.  Every time we go on it it's tradition for them to eat a Popsicle or an ice cream cone upon their return.  We did it once...and they think it has to happen every single time.  Silly Boys.  I love going on bike rides with the boys.  I love being outside and spending time with them.  Today Mason and I took the ride slow and we talked the entire time about all of the holiday crafts that he wants to do at home with me this year since he'll be home schooled.  I suppose I should start researching Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentines
Day, and other holiday crafts.

This is our view on our bike rides.  Dirt road and desert.  Even after a year, I still have to pinch myself to realize that I'm not dreaming.  My life is so wonderful that I may as well be dreaming.  My life couldn't be better.  I love green scenery, but I have become quite accustomed to the desert life after having lived in the Antelope Valley for the past 15 years.  15 years!

The boys had fun with chalk again today!

Little Caitlyn Dawn loves riding her bike as well.  She likes riding on the driveway, in our back yard, and on this little dirt path around the mailboxes across from our house.  She is the sweetest little girl.

Jon's entertainment center is coming along quite nicely!  I bet it will be finished in about a week.  It will look beautiful.  He is so talented and I'm in awe of him.

William enjoys playing the tablet!  I was trying to keep him occupied while I was busy with the other kids.

Lizzie has a sense of confidence about her that I never came close to having at her age.  I wrote the young women in our ward letters today.  I included one for her as well, of course.  Her's was twice as long as the other girls'.  Lizzie is an incredible daughter of God.

Bryce worked on some math problems this morning.  He is doing well with his math.  He worked hard even though I could tell he didn't want to do it.  I was proud of him for doing something that he didn't want to do.  I love the background behind Bryce.  I just love my home.  It's beautiful.  It feels warm, comforting, and inviting.  There is nowhere on earth I'd rather be.  I'm so blessed.

Caitlyn emptied the dishwasher today.  I love this girl!

Doesn't Mason look sharp in his new shirt?  He's such a good boy.  He's practicing his piano.  Piano lessons are coming along slowly but surely.  It would be better if I wasn't their teacher...but we do what we have to do.
