Big Improvements for Mason in Basketball!
Mason had game #2 today! He was a completely different player than he was last weekend. Jon took him to the church gym a few times this week and I think that was all that he needed to boost his confidence a bit. He didn't run away from the ball today! He advanced towards it like he actually wanted it! He was able to dribble and shoot the ball. He didn't make any baskets but he sure did try!
William is just too adorable! He was doing so well with potty training until this afternoon hit. Then he had 3 accidents in a row. Overall, however, I think that today was an improvement from yesterday as far as potty training is concerned.
Amanda and Craig (who live in Montana) are experiencing severe winter weather at the moment. Wind chill 70 below zero! Yikes! I really am grateful for the weather that we have here in California. Yes, it is unbearably hot in the summer...but I'd say at least 7-8 out of the 12 months in a year the weather is pretty fantastic.
Aside from basketball, we spent the rest of the day continuing our decluttering. We worked on the shed. Jon filled the entire van with Goodwill donations and dropped them off.
The weather was freezing this morning. (Well, I think that 37 degrees Fahrenheit is cold, ha ha.) Angie and I went on a run at 5:30 a.m. despite the freezing temperatures and drizzling rain. We ran 13.1 miles (a half marathon). It went decently well, as I was terrified that I was going to have issues with pain. It definitely wasn't pain free, but I made it. Angie's husband got a job in St. Lois, Missouri. They will be moving within a few months. It makes me so sad! I am getting so tired of all of my friends moving away from the desert.
I can't believe that I have lived in Lancaster for almost 14 years! When I moved here after graduating college I never really imagined myself still being here after 14 years. This just proves that you never really know where life will take you. It's also crazy (and sad) to think that my Mom passed away after I had only been here for 8 years. Lizzie was only in Kindergarten when she died. 6 more years have nearly come and gone. Life has changed so much in 6 years.
