Feeling Awful

I feel awful about something that I did today.  Well, something that I DIDN'T do.  I feel like the worst person in the world.  I feel like horrible.  I was prompted to do something and I ignored the prompting.  It's eating me up. It's short, so I'll explain it here. I went to Relief Society today.  The first time in about three years.  I sat with Jon's Mom.  I noticed a girl sitting in front of me who was sitting alone.  I chatted with her.  I had the thought to sit next to her so she wouldn't have to sit alone, but I didn't feel like I could leave Sandy.  I didn't want to make Sandy feel bad by leaving her so I ignored the prompting.  Then I went and accompanied a song on the piano.  While I was playing I had the thought, again, that I needed to sit next to this girl.  I decided that I would sit next to her on my way back instead of sitting next to Sandy.  However, as I walked back, someone else was sittin...

Bryce's Own Words

"I can play guitar.  It is a 32-inch Spanish Guitar.  I am going to go to 8th grade.  It's going to be fun.  One reason is I could be one of the 'big' kids and I can go to high school next year so it's my last year in middle school.  Our vacation was pretty good.  I went on a boat and rowed on it, paddled it.  I got a leech stuck on my left/right foot.  On Wednesday or Thursday I might go to MB2 entertainment in Santa Clarita with my friends.  My friends are Joaquin, Nathaniel, and Manny.  They are pretty fun to hang around.  They are also good kids.  This year I did track and I did the shot put and long jump.  I feel meh about it.  It means, like, medium.  It was okay.  In Young Men's camp I played paintball and shot a guy six times in a row in the same match.  I don't know who it is he had a mask on.  I went to the beach and went boogie boarding.  I got strangled by my own boogie boar...

Caitlyn's Own Words

"Hello.  My name is Caitlyn.  Today our cousins, James and Lydia, came over to our house.  I got interviewed by the Bishop today.  We went to Yellowstone.  We saw two Black Bears.  And I also saw a river otter.  We celebrated William's party today by playing games and having fun.  We played blow up games like bowling, pinball, and the throwing game.  We went to the beach and we went camping.  There was thunder and it was hailing.  There was lightning.  And we called William "Pebble-Elbowed William".  I liked climbing up the hills with rocks.  It was raining and we saw lots of beautiful clouds and mountains.  We saw fish.  And Daddy and Bryce got bitten by a leech.  William got really good presents.  And Mommy got really good goodie bags.  And I got new clothes and shoes for the school year.  I'm excited for school to start because I want to see my friends and I really want to be in ...

Another Week of Summer Gone

Image
Another week of Summer Vacation in the books!  This summer is flying by.  It's already July!  We leave on vacation this week.  When we return in a few weeks it will be William's birthday and then school/work will start a few weeks later.  Crazy! Hmmm...what did we do this week? I spent a large part of Monday planning and preparing lesson plans for the first half of the school year.  It will be nice to start at the beginning of the year rather than starting in the middle of the year.  I'll also be able to decorate my own classroom and make it my own rather than starting in the middle of someone else's classroom.  I'll be able to start with my own rules and procedures as well.  I'm really looking forward to it.  We will be reading "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" and doing ELA activities related to that book.  Then we will be doing a variety of STEM, Art, Social Studies, Science, and holiday themed learning activities.  It's g...

A Whirlwind: January to June

Image
Well, I'm sitting here on a Sunday afternoon with nothing to do.  Of course, there are always things that I could be doing...but I realized that I had not updated this blog/journal since January.  I feel guilty about it.  But guilt does me no good.  I'll just start where I am and move forward. There is no way that I could possibly record all that has happened since January.  Part of my thinks that it's been a pretty uneventful year, but it's in the looking back that I recognize that it truly has been a memorable six months.  I truly need to to repent and start recording my memories weekly.  I owe it to myself and to my posterity. ******* I just spent an hour writing and there was an internet connection issue and I lost it all.  I'm really upset about it right now so I just need to take a break for a bit.  I'll come back in a bit and see if I can write anything comparable to what I had already written. ******* Okay, it's been about 4 hou...
