Well, Jon's parents and Grandma moved out yesterday. They lived here for 2 months and 2 days, ha ha. It wasn't bad at all. It was nice having them here. Last night as we finished the Book of Mormon with the kids they both shared their conversion stories and their testimonies of the Book of Mormon. That wouldn't have occurred had they not been living here. The best part is that they only moved 2 miles down the road from us. The kids are so excited that they now live so close to us.
I think that I will be able to do better at my daily journal writing from now on. Our routines changed a bit when we had them living with us, but I am looking forward to getting back to our own routines and schedules again. It will be a wonderful new year!
I'll just post a few pictures in an effort to catch up (I haven't taken too many pictures). Starting tomorrow I will be back to my old picture-taking, record-keeping self.
We finally had our pellet stove installed! It has been so wonderful to have a nice warm heat source in our family room. We have loved gathering together and being warm! I love our beautiful home. After Jon's parents left we opened up the window/holes in our walls again and it seemed as if our house grew exponentially. I love our home and feel so incredibly blessed to be living in such a comfortable home in such a beautiful place.
William and I cuddling by the "fire".
We had our ward party last week. It was a drive-by party because of the Pandemic. The kids received a very cute gift from the primary and they loved it!
The kids thought it was fun to dress up as Santa Clause the other day. William just thought it was fun to put Santa's boot on his head, ha ha.
I spent last Sunday baking. I only took a picture of these cookies, but I made a variety of other treats as well. Fudge, Mom's homemade caramels, English Toffee, etc. After dinner we went out and delivered 13 plates to various ward members. I hate leaving people out. I made some more treats yesterday and today we will drop off a few more plates. I wish that I could give them to everyone.
Missing my Mom this month more than usual, as she loved Christmas. Thinking how wonderful and blessed that I am to have so many of her things in our house that remind me of her.
These paintings used to hang up in the entry way of my parents' home. I love that they are now in my home.
This is also from my parents' home. It's one of my favorite scriptures and it reminds me of Mom because she often brought it up. "For Everything There is a Season".
Mom made me this frame. There is a different picture for each month. This is the picture for December.
I didn't put up all of her Christmas decorations, but this is one of the elf's that she painted.
She embroidered the words "All Hearts Come Home For Christmas" inside the frame, and she painted the Elf Christmas Countdown that I absolutely love. We had the same one growing up. My Mom was so incredibly artistically talented.
We made these brick snowman this week. Everyone decorated their own. I love them!
William takes his shirt off at night, even in the Winter! Silly boy!
Okay, starting tomorrow I will be back on track to recording our family history. I will try to do better at recording more things that are spiritual in nature.
