William Is FOUR!
After talking for months about his birthday...today finally came! William is four. Our baby is FOUR! Even so, I think he will forever and always be my baby boy, my baby joy.
I feel so old. And I feel such a sense of sadness as I'm realizing more and more that my child-bearing days are over. In one more year all of my kids will be in school. All of those years of babies, pregnancy, constant breastfeeding, changing diapers, potty training, barf, sickness, sleepless nights, snotty noses, poopy bums, tantrums, and endless book reading seemed to last forever...yet in a blink of an eye they have already passed. I feel like Jacob in the Book of Mormon who said, "And our lives past us by as if it were unto us a dream." Thinking back on those early days it does feel like it was a dream. The absolute best dream in the world. Because along with the weariness and difficult days...there came a feeling of joy that comes with snuggling a newborn baby on your chest in the middle of the night when the rest of the house is dark and still. Nothing can compare to seeing your own child grow and develop and learn. Nothing can compare to a child who would rather be there holding your hand or snuggling with you on the couch rather than anywhere else in the whole wide world. I have truly been blessed to have been able to experience so much joy the past 13 years since becoming a mother. Really, the past 14 years since I consider myself a mother when I was pregnant with Lizzie.
What will the next chapter of my life bring?
William making faces with Mama. Silly Boy.
Our room looks so nice in this picture. Our bedroom is another one of my favorite spots in our home. The boys are showing me yet another one of their thousands of Lego creations. I love the fact that they always come and show me their creations.
While I was working on the Halloween Advent, Lizzie and and Caitlyn and I sat and talked, sang ugly rhyming songs, and chilled. I love being with my girls!
I'm so impressed with Lizzie. She learned a new method of knitting a scarf on her loom. She started this scarf today and made a lot of progress already! She is amazing!
William requested special birthday donuts for his birthday breakfast. I make the easiest donuts in the world. I fry refrigerated biscuit dough in oil and dip it in a glaze. That's it! They are so fast, simple, and yummy.
He loved the Spiderman Lego set!
He loved his batman character!
I snapped this picture of our home on the way home from my morning walk. I just love our little homestead here in the acres!
The sunrise was beautiful this morning. Pictures just don't do it justice.
It did it! I almost finished them! All I have to do now is glue on the pockets and it will be complete. I am so happy with how it turned out. It was a lot of fun! I hope my friend likes the one that I'm going to give to her.
