Saturday Again

Today was a pretty slow Saturday.  I went on a walk in the morning (5:30 a.m. when the sun wakes up).  I made the kids go outside and play after breakfast.  I spent the morning working on the Young Women Newsletter.  I use the Mailchimp program to create the emails and it's a lot of fun.  I talk about the Young Women lesson for the week (I include a link to a video, as well as a general conference talk that the girls can read), make announcements, and put pictures of the young women that they send me.  It's been a nice way to keep in touch with the young women while we have been forced to be apart due to the pandemic.  I learned how to use the Mailchimp program in our previous ward when I was the Relief Society Secretary.  Mary Collins was the president and she wanted me to create a monthly virtual newsletter.  I'm so grateful that she encouraged me to learn that skill.  I loved working with Mary in the Relief Society Presidency.  She is so sweet and like a motherly/grandmotherly figure.  She actually knew Jon when he was growing up.  She was his seminary teacher and her boys grew up with Jon.

After the newsletter went out to the girls, I finally finished the 2 Halloween Countdowns that I started last week.  They turned out really cute and I'm proud of it, which is rare for me.

While Jon grilled the chicken for dinner Caitlyn and William played outside on our patio.  One day we want to close in the patio and make it an indoor sun room.  It will be really nice and add extra living space.

The kids were trying to balance things on the baseball

I love watching Jon at the grill.  What a guy!

Caitlyn is really getting really good at doodling pretty melodies on the piano.  She hasn't been too interested in learning how to read music...but she'll get there soon enough.

Cuddling on Caitlyn's bed with William...

While the big boys hang out on the floor.  The room is a mess...oh well.

Caitlyn and William made a "fort" in William's room.  They played there for a good while, pretending like they were camping.  Sometimes they are best buds and it makes me really happy.  After dinner I took them on a bike ride (they sat in the bike trailer) and they were both singing songs about family while I was pulling them along.

I am so blessed.  After having done this daily journal writing for a few weeks now, I am feeling worse about missing so many months.  There are so many important things that happen each day and I feel awful about not recording anything for those months.  Well...I hope that I can remember this guilt so that I can be motivated to keep it up.
