Something We Never Expected

Well, our counteroffer for Dream House #2 was surprisingly rejected!  I just couldn't believe it.  The realtor had another offer on the table and was just stringing us along and getting our hopes up for no reason.

I spent a good day being quite depressed about it all.  I loved, loved, loved that home!  I felt like we had exhausted all of the options in Antelope Acres.  There just wasn't anything left on the market that we could picture ourselves living in.  I wanted to give up hope, just stop the entire process, stay in our current home, and accept the fact that it was going to be our forever home.  But Jon wanted to push through until the weekend.  He wanted to make sure that we exhausted all of our options.

Thankfully, we have the best realtor around.  He literally called 40 different homes and asked if they wanted to sell their homes.  He ended up calling one person, who happened to be a member of the church...and who happened to know that her neighbor was interested in selling her home.  Score!

We saw the home today.  We loved it.  Move-in ready, yard is fully landscaped, fenced in...and on and on.  Since they haven't even placed their home on the market yet we are getting first dibs on it.  We are going to offer exactly what they are asking for.  Hopefully tonight.  They like us and want us to buy their home.  So they will accept the offer and with any luck we should be in escrow within 24 hours.

Who would have thought?

I guess third time really is the charm.

We feel so blessed that this whole thing actually worked out and that Heavenly Father is actually allowing us to follow this dream of ours.

Anyway, I have been slacking at taking pictures lately.

The weather has been fun lately.  It goes from pouring rain and flooded streets one day, to nice and sunny the next day.

It's always fun when the potato heads come out!

I love, love, love my little Caitlyn Dawn.  She is the most adorable and precious little 4-year-old on the planet!  She will turn 5 in a few months and it makes me so sad.  Never again will I have the chance to have my little girl sit on my lap and draw while we wait for siblings to get out of school.

There aren't any pictures of the home that we are going to buy.  The current owners bought it brand new and so there weren't ever any pictures on Zillow.

But this is the front entry way.  I love it.  A nice double door with windows all around.  We haven't lived in a home yet with windows by the entry way.  It will be nice to be able to see who is on the front porch.
