Playing Catch-up...Again!
Well, I think it's safe to say that my new years resolution of updating this blog every day has already failed (and it's only March)...which I suppose is fairly average as far as New Year's resolutions go.
Here's to updating it once a week! At the very least!
Well, it's officially official. Our current house is in escrow and we are in escrow on a home in Antelope Acres. I cannot believe that it all worked out! I have come to realize even more that with God, all things are possible.
I was able to find these two pictures of our future home:
This is the front entry way:
And this is a view from the back patio. This is the built-in kitchen! It has a place to put your grill, a built-in charcoal grill, a sink, counter space, and a glass barrier to block the wind. You can see the trees surrounding the perimeter of the property. There is a shed in the back corner as well. It really has a park-ish feel to it. There is a smaller gated area and then a larger gated area behind it.
Lizzie participated in her school talent show! She woke up the morning of auditions and just decided to go for it. So she auditioned and made it! The had rehearsals for a few days and then the actual show was on Friday after school. It was 2 hours long and a joy to watch. There are some very talented and brave kids at her middle school! Lizzie played a song that she composed on the piano. I am so proud of her for being so brave!
If you can't spot Lizzie in this picture...she's the one wearing spots!
After the talent show, Jon's parents invited us to go out to eat with them. Mason and William were not in the best of moods (actually, either was Mommy!), so we opted to stay home and have a picnic of leftovers on the floor. We had fun!
We also played "Tumbling Towers" and I found a few old ice cream cups in the freezer (from Caitlyn's birthday party!) that the boys enjoyed for a treat.
Today was Mason's last basketball game. I think he enjoyed the season enough, but his team was a tough team. They didn't play very well as a team, there were a few ball-hogs, and a few just didn't listen to the direction of the coaches (which made practicing very difficult). There were a few practices that I watched where I felt awful for the coaches. They were trying their hardest to teach the boys how to play and 3 of the boys just wouldn't stop running around and they completely ignored all instruction. It made for a very difficult team. But Mason stuck it out. I think he is the kind of kid who would rather shoot hoops in the driveway just for fun though rather than play on a competitive team. We will have a large driveway in our new home which will be perfect for shooting hoops. I'm excited to get a basketball hoop...I have missed being able to shoot around.
Mason has been begging Jon to give him a Mo-Hawk (unbeknownst to me). So I was quite surprised to see Mason's hair like this tonight after Jon gave him a haircut! Yikes! Mason loves it but I can hardly wait for it to grow out. Too bad it won't grow out before church tomorrow!
These two kids are so adorable! They love taking bubble baths together. And they always give each other a hug when they get out of the tub.
William fell on his two front teeth last week. It bled a lot, of course. All of the kids have fallen on their teeth before...but William's teeth are the first to turn gray! I think he killed them when he fell. He'll be going to the dentist on Monday morning.
I made some pumpkin bread for my friend last week. William loves helping in the kitchen.
Mostly because he LOVES licking the spoon!
Caitlyn showing off one of her tinker-toy creations. I think this was an umbrella.
I think I really need to start focusing on taking more pictures of the older kids! I am around the younger two so much that I automatically take more pictures of them. The kids are on Spring Break for the next two weeks though so I'm hoping to add more pictures of the rest of them!
The duo playing with Caitlyn's princesses.
I babysat Miah this week for a few hours. Miah's Mom left Miah with a bag of crackers for her to eat. Needless to say, William was not happy at all that Miah got those particular crackers and I had none for him! I gave him something else, of course, but it wasn't the same as Miah's crackers. Poor William.
Caitlyn is such a big helper. Seriously, she is! She helps me fold the laundry and she does a better job at it than I do!
Anyway, in case I don't update the blog tomorrow, here's next week's Come Follow Me assignment!
Also, the Personal Progress program is being discontinued by the end of the year! So Lizzie and I are trying to get it finished fast! I'm not sure if I can do it...I have started it and find it quite different doing it as an adult versus a teenager. I'm excited for the challenge though.
