Halloween Celebration and Ward Trunk or Treat

Image
Today was a fun day! The kids took it easy for school today...which means they barely did anything.  The ward trunk or treat was tonight and that was the only thing that they could think of all day.  We also had our family Halloween celebration today.  The kids picked the menu. Caitlyn also had a little trunk or treat at school with the 1st Grade teachers.  She also found out that she won 2nd place in the 1st grade pumpkin decorating contest (with her unicorn pumpkin).  She was so excited!  All of the girls must have voted for her pumpkin, ha ha.  Caitlyn and Mason both miss school.  I hope that they will be able to go back next year.  And William will be in kindergarten!  And it looks like I'll be homeschooling Bryce and Lizzie.  Who would have thought that I would be homeschooling when all of my kids were finally old enough to be in school?  I have made a commitment to my kids though, and I will do whatever I need to for them...

Who to Vote for?

The election is almost here.  I have filled out my ballot...aside from my vote for the President of the United States.  I have been tossing and turning over this decision for months.  It has really caused me to think.  I have read everything that I could about both candidates.  I have watched ads from both candidates.  I have watched speeches from both candidates.  I have watched every single debate.  Even after all of that, I seem to have a stupor of thought and I just can't decide who to vote for.  I honestly don't feel 100% about either candidate.  I consider myself a moderate conservative.  I don't agree with everything that Biden says...but I respect him as an individual.  On the other hand, I do not respect Trump as an individual.  What should I support?  What should I ignore?  It's been a very difficult decision for me.  I think that I will ultimately not vote for either of them.  There is ...

Yoga Time!

Jon's parents got the keys to their new home!  We went and saw it today.  It's so nice!  It just needs some new carpet, a fresh coat of paint, and a good cleaning and it will be good to go.  It's really a nice home.  I'm really excited for them. I have been exercising in the morning, as usual, but I have been making more of an effort to incorporate some relaxing stretching and yoga as well.  It's been nice to have that relaxing time for myself.  I know that I've been exercising for years for "me time"...but there is something different about carving out time for less intense and more relaxing/restorative/stress-relieving exercises. The kids also did some yoga this morning before they started school for the day. I love our home.  I really do.  It's the perfect place to be together as a family.  I love that there is enough space for us to gather together in the heart of the home (the kitchen/family room area).  I couldn't have i...

Apollo Park

Image
After school today, I took the younger three to Apollo Park again.  It was so windy and cold!  It was about 65 degrees, which isn't freezing, but it was definitely a lot colder than what we have been used to lately.  It was so nice going outside in the middle of the day though, for a change.  Daylight savings time is on Sunday, which means that it will start getting dark around 5:30 in the evenings.  The kids will have to play outside in the daytime now rather than after dinner, our typical summer schedule. My kids bring me so much joy.  What a blessing it is to be their mother and to have them in my home, under my care, 24 hours a day.  I am so blessed.  Time is fleeting.  These precious moments will be gone in the blink of an eye.  It saddens me.
