Temple Blessings

Another week gone.  And we made it! It was a pretty typical Covid Quarantine week.  I am starting to get more and more excited for General Conference.  It's one month away!  And so is Easter!  My favorite time of year.  I am really looking forward to focusing on our Savior, Jesus Christ, even more than I normally do.  I love our Easter traditions.  We celebrate Holy Week and focus on Christ and what His life was like during the last week of His life.  I love it so much.  This year, Easter falls on General Conference weekend.  It's going to be an spiritual feast! I fasted this Thursday for Aaron Kaey, who underwent his first surgery for his colon cancer.  I hurt for his wife and daughter.  So sad.  Why does cancer have to touch the lives of such wonderful people?  It breaks my heart. I went to a virtual Relief Society Lesson on Tuesday.  It was about the Temple, based on the talk by Elder Rasband, "Reco...

Feeling Okay with my Imperfections

I know I'm not writing daily.  But I'm choosing to forgive myself.  I'm not perfect, but what I'm doing is better than nothing.   I feel bad about doing nothing...but doing something, no matter how imperfect, is one step better than failing to do anything at all.  We got to go to sacrament meeting today at the church for the first time in nearly a year!  It felt amazing to be back in the building.  I had to give a talk today, so 3 of the kids accompanied me.  The "rules" have changed and for the next few weeks, 25 people will be allowed in the sacrament meetings.  Starting March 14th, up to 99 people can be there at once.  The 2nd hour lessons (Young Women, Young Men, etc.) will take place virtually.  Times are changing!  Slowly but surely!  There is starting to be a light at the end of the tunnel. Yesterday, the kids watched the first "Friend to Friend" broadcast on YouTube.  It was amazing!  The kids learned ho...

Valentine's Day

Before I start talking about Valentine's Day (which is today), I wanted to do a quick re-cap on our week. Life is going well.  We are so incredibly blessed! For our youth activity on Wednesday, we (The Young Women Presidency) introduced the 2021 Youth Theme to our girls.  I thought that it turned out really well.  I love these Young Women so much.  They are so phenomenal and they impress me more and more every single day.  Two of them taught the Young Women lesson today and it was incredible.  These young women are ready to take on the world! The YW lesson today was about the priesthood power.  I was asked how baptism and the sacrament help me to access the power of Christ.  I'm not exactly sure how I answered, but I thought I'd record a bit of how I answered (for my family to also read).  Our covenants connect us to Christ.  It's that simple!  When we were baptized, we made covenants that, in keeping them, we will feel closer...
